This beautiful doll has been assembled, dressed and wigged by Stephanie Sharland. She is named Ellen, this was a very popular name in the Regency era. She is, hopefully, to be the first of many Regency dolls along with dolls from other era's that I will be offering for sale on my web site by Stephanie who will be applying for IGMA artisan status this summer. All of these dolls will be as historically dressed as possible, no two ever the same. They will therefore be collectors items which will one day be heirlooms! Ellen's dress is made of pure silk. The name of this type of dress is a "sack back". ALL the lace used on her beautiful black and white dress is genuine antique. The stomacher also has vintage material covering the black silk. The stunning black chantilly lace has red jewels placed in the middle of some tiny flowers on the lace. On her face is a removable beauty spot, it can be made permanent. Please advise if you wish this done. Her neckline has a beautiful stiffened lace ruffle, with a tiny ringlet from her hair to one side. Her undergarments are cotton, devoid of lace, as this is how they were. The skirt pannier is handmade, covered in black silk ribbon, then white ribbon has been ruffled and added. Again this is how the panniers were covered. Only the main seams have been machine sewn, there is a lot of hand sewing on Ellen. Ellen's fan is entirely handmade and has a white butterfly either side. Her neckline necklace, dress front, fan handle are tiny gold coloured beads. Her wig has been handcrafted, decorated with a red enamel butterfly and black jewels to the back. Finally, Ellen has real leather shoes, handmade from the finest, softest leather. There are tiny silk bows and red jewels. Kindly note this is a collectors item, therefore, not suitable for young children. She comes from a smoke free home.
